Adventures in Couponing, 6/27
I admit it. I watched Extreme Couponing on TLC and began clipping coupons that night. I have no shame.
After weeks of studying the world of couponing, I decided to make take the plunge. This week was my first attempt and I have to say it went well.
My biggest challenge is my location. It is not easily for me to drop by a store with the nearest town almost an hour and a half away, so in order to make my efforts worth while, I will have to combine my shopping with already planned trips. It doesn’t do me any good to save $10 at the store, only to spend it in gas. Luckily, this week, I had a grocery shopping trip planned, so these extras stops were no problem. And s0 begins the start of my stockpile.
Rite Aid: x2 Old Spice High Endurance Deodorant, x2 Old Spice High Endurance Body Wash, Excedrin Migraine (20-24ct), and x2 Oral-B Advance 3D Toothbrush.
Retail: $22.55, Paid Cash: $8.29
Received: $8.38 +UP and $1.00 rebate (with +Up and rebate in consideration, like making $1.09)
Plus, I have two survey codes, with each survey giving me $3 off next $15 purchase
CVS: x2 Dove Men+Care Body Wash, Dove Men+Care Deodorant, Dove Body Wash, Tums (60ct), Colgate MaxFresh Toothpaste
Retail: $33.05, Paid Cash: $2.42
Received: $4.00 Extra Care Bucks (with ECB in consideration, like making $1.58)
It will be interesting to see if I can use couponing in purchasing brands that I am loyal too – more of the eco / hippy products? To be determined.
