Bluegrass Sounds Better at 4848′
Bluegrass is coming from my office. Very loud bluegrass. It is time to get psyched about the 4th of July Bluegrass Festival at Snowshoe Mountain Resort.
When it comes to bluegrass, I wouldn’t say that I am a hard core fan, but I do enjoy it pretty often. And somethings makes it even more appealing to the ears as it blasts from the side of Skidder* slope at an elevation of 4848′ with the rolling mountains in the background.
*Skidder: A machine, either rubber-tired or tracked, used to drag logs to the landing. Interesting tidbit to know, as logging is a reoccurring theme in bluegrass music.

Here’s a event preview from the awesome video team at Snowshoe:
I should probably also mentioned that there is a bike race this weekend, the first in the Powerade Race Seriesat Snowshoe Mountain Resort. While I don’t ever foresee myself attempting to ride a bike down anything with a grade steeper than 1%, the guys and gals that take on these races have some pretty awesome skills (and disregard for personally safety…). Here’s another video from the Snowshoe TV team, with a neat perspective of this weekend’s race course:
